Fast Moving Fires Burn Numerous Homes In Texas

Fire season never really ends. The Interagency Fire Center reports the 2009 year to date totals in the U.S. is 3,140 wildfires and 80,617 acres burned.

Since Jan. 1, 2009, 3,685 wildfires have burned 118,061 acres of land across the state [TX]. These fires have threatened 1,763 homes, firefighters have saved 1,630 homes, and 57 homes were lost, according to Governor's Office officials.
