how do I see this on google earth?

Go to USFS Active Fire Maps and click the current fire KML files.

Once downloaded start Google Earth and click the Conus active fire file in the Google Earth sidebar maenu.

The fire perimeter will appear. The fire images are delayed of course. hard to tell how old.
